Kansas City International Airport Reports March 2026 passenger traffic

The Kansas City Aviation Department reports that 965,274 passengers arrived and departed through Kansas City International Airport’s gates in March, a 2.72 percent increase from March 2025. Passenger boardings were up 3.04 percent, with a total of 476,936 passengers boarded. For the year to date, total passengers in and out total 2,513,540, up 3.31 percent.

Air cargo tonnages, which consist of both freight and mail transported by air, for all carriers at Kansas City International were up 1.08 percent in March compared to 2025 with a total of 21.1 million pounds handled. Year to date, 57.23 million pounds of air cargo has been handled, down 2.1 percent.

The number of peak-day scheduled aircraft departures for March 2026 was 161. Service was offered to 51 nonstop markets. There was an average of 41,755 arriving and departing scheduled seats in the market each day. The all-cargo carriers reported 8 daily departures for March. Read the full statistics.
